If you are experiencing any problems with being able to vote, someone if trying to prevent you from exercising your voting rights, you have a question about voting, or you need help, call the North Caroling Voter Protection Hotline at: 888-687-8683. They are available Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. throughout the year. Callers may ask questions about how to register to vote and cast a ballot in North Carolina or report voting problems. Please see if you can get the help you need here first, as they will be very busy, BUT if you need ANY help and cannot find it here, CALL THEM! Also, have their number saved in your phone, because you never know when you may need to call them urgently and unexpectedly (like when you are at the polls).

- Important Deadlines:
-You must register to vote by October 9 if you're registering in person or online. If you are registering by mail, your application must be POSTMARKED by October 9.
-For Absentee Ballots: Your request for an Absentee Ballot must be RECEIVED by October 27. If you are returning your ballot by mail, it must be POSTMARKED by November 3, and if you're returning it in person, you must do so by November 3. Please return these forms ASAP, as the election officials are very busy, and you want to make sure your ballot arrives on time and that your vote counts.
